Maul stamina cost is inconsistent, maul consumes stamina without attacking

When attacking with a maul, stamina consumption can go anywhere from 4 to ~15 per swing. If stamina is low but still high enough to attack, it drains stamina but cancels the attack. I have seen this be as low as 8 or as high as 24 before cancelling the attack. It does not seem to happen with any of the other tools except maul.

    Hi there,
    Thank for bringing this to our attention.
    In order to do a proper investigation of the base level stamina costs for the simple maul, we will need to determine if other hidden values may be at play.


    If possible, please press F2 while in-game and attach a screenshot of the overlay menu to this post so we can better understand what maybe causing the issue.

    Further testing with higher stamina: it seems to be that there is a maximum number of chained attacks (holding the attack button down without release) that the maul can make before it force-stops the chain and consumes whatever stamina would have gone into the next attack. This limit is for attacks while aiming down, where attacks are all over-hand. This does not happen when attacking with standard chain attacks looking forward rather than down.
