lag/stutter when host/co-op server/realm

As long as there is only one person/player on the co-op realm/server, there is no problems playing. The second player to log in on the server will have bad stuttering or lag. The stutter will be bad enough to cause the co-op player(s) to log out and not want to play. The first player to have logged in, no stutter to my knowledge, can play for hours before even getting a touch of lag or stutter. This is after the last update.

This effects traveling across a realm, movement of any kind, building, combat, and traveling between realms and biomes.

Movement will involve several steps forward, but will slingshot the player back to where they either started, double the movement backwards, stuttering the whole time after a significant pause where the player stops pressing the move forward key. Combat will be similar, the enemy won't be effected by the attack while the player has frozen in place. The creature will not be effected by the freeze during this time, after several attacks on the player, at which time the player gets the stutter or slingshot. The player damage (ammo from the attack will not be recovered either from the freeze/slingshot) and or death from the attacks will not be changed after the freeze/slingshot, but the creature will be alive and fully healed (if it registered any damage) after the stutter/freeze of the player. Slingshots are like the server has had a hiccup and reverses time for the realm, but not the player, beyond moving the player back to a point they travelled past. Stutters are the player moving forward and being moved back along their path of movement multiple times in a matter of a few seconds to up to a minute. Where they cannot react to the environment around them. While everything else moves without the stutter or time jumping. Time jumping tends to be a freeze and stutter together. The player might be moving to pass enemies, whether stuttering or not, freezes in place (sometimes animation continues, sometimes it doesn't), again anywhere from a few seconds or up to a minute of time, where they will come out of the time freeze being in combat, stuttering, and in some cases even dead.

Now, to explain why this is a problem. Currently the computers doing this are playing online and decently high end. We haven't tested single offline or started single online realms, but that was not the reason for buying the game, it was for the co-op and enjoying time playing together in a steampunk, less fantasy, game.

Network Band 5GHz

Initially tested with WiFi after game update. Switched to RJ45 to see if stutter/lag continued. Cleared caches. Verified files. Uninstalled, re-Installed. Defragged. Lowered in game settings from ultra through to performance, and even tried some custom settings. Changed frame rates from 120 to 30, 30 being the lowest before 0 on the Frame rate scale in game. cleared cache again just to be sure of that. Checked for updates on everything involved in running the game, everything up to date. Including the motherboard's programming. Checked connection speeds, both computers were reading the same speeds for both Wifi test and for the ether test. We have fiber optic speeds at the lower end of our connection speeds. Dedicated Satellite feed, clear day (so no interference), made sure dish was clean and has good connection to satellite. Checked wires for faulty connections, break or damage, power source connection and possible local power surges. Clean connections between computers and hardware. Testing RAM for any bad chip sets. Check temperatures of CPU, GPU, RAM, and Motherboard. Check liquid cool system connections and temperatures. Then did it all again just to be sure of anything forgotten. Everything checked out good and running properly for hardware and base software for the computer. Game's files verified again before doing last test of game. Single/first player, no stutter lag. Second player joins, stutter lag starts up for second player. First player still fine for no stutter lag.

Using online service. Haven't tested offline as that is single player only from what I can see, with no LAN options.

Mode Online
Impact It's difficult to play or progress
Category Tags Technical (Crashes, Disconnects, Performance), Multiplayer
Realm [Biome/Major] Occurs in all Realms
Steps to Reproduce First player logs in. Then second player logs in. Online play. Wifi or ethernet. High end computers with similar builds. Older computers could not play, motherboard GPU for older computers not built for gaming. Gaming Laptop, didn't have stats for that at fingertips, but has as close to desktop build as possible for pre-built laptop. All three, desktops and laptop, had same issues. Didn't matter who logged in first, they had no stutter/lag. Second player always had the stutter/lag. Satellite connection, Starlink, up to date software for that as well. Very rural, clear sky, no interference from trees or other possible blocking of dish. Other steps to remove any possible problems from hardware and software in description. Desktop hardware listed in body of description. CPU temps were between 55-78F. GPU at most +10F to CPU due to case and GPU does not have liquid cooling.
