Most players spend most of their times in the inventory menu, managing the use of and distribution of various items. Having to select and drag or right-click on a single item stack at a time is incredibly tedious. Having the ability to select multiple items through the use of the Control/Command and Shift keys, a la GUI file management functions in Windows/Mac/Linux would bring a massive improvement to inventory ease of use, and afford more time for players to simply play the game.
