It might be helpful if the various tiers of grenades could be used to blast mine certain materials. Like using the end tier satchel to hit the hard to reach spots on an Einaida spawn, for example. Lower tier/power grenades wouldn't actually damage higher tier materials, sort of like how other tools work. I notice the automaton pawn can already damage some ores and gems with its attack, which can be used to mine certain endgame resources early if you can handle the damage. This would be making something like that an intentional feature.
