Clearly a lot of people use the hotbars in very different ways. In addition to having multiple hotbar options (which I already upvoted), I'd also like to propose being able to customise the split.
Rather than forcing a 50/50 split of main hand to off-hand, let the player customize how many are main and how many are off-hand.
So I could have 8 main hand and 2 off hand while someone else has 4 main and 6 off.
or, if combined with the multiple idea, I could have one that has more main hand tools for exploring and gathering, and one that has more off hand options for combat that I could keep more potions and things available in.
Having to pull things on and off my hotbars every 2 mins due to this weird mainhand/offhand restriction is 100% killing the game experience for me.
the best thing devs could do is literally steal the way Enshrouded does it. best action bar system I've experienced in a survival crafting game hands down
tbh just dont have the split in the first place imo
I'm definitely in favour of being able to allocate how many hot bar slots are for main hand / offhand suited to my own needs.
Ideally, I'd love to see it in the Esc > Controls section as a 10-0-10 sider (with main hand on left, off-hand on right), so the player can slide the choice from one side to the other and allocate exactly the amount they want.
You could even in future add a tick box to change whether your character is left or right handed! :D
so the split starts at 50/50 but you just roll the mouse 3 button you can pick any number

Also in favor something like this or even a press ~ to swap between 2 sets of bars.
I like the idea of this...another option could be to allow the player to either have a fully customizable bar or the 5/5 main hand / off hand split in the options menu.
