When players encounter spiders, they are currently oriented to the ground plane and they may be able to traverse some of the smaller objects (such as Deadfall and Ore Nodes).
As a possible trait that makes them a unique enemy to the game and reflective of their behavior in real life, perhaps they could be given the ability to scale walls. This would introduce an enemy type that the player can not evade simply by climbing a structure.
