I had remapped my dodge roll to "C", which also remapped the remove button when in build mode. THIS is the actual issue- remapping overwrites the remove structure key.
Correction: unable to demolish structures through the build mode controls-
text for remove structure too small to read, and holding "V" no longer
removes structures.
