when i moved my materials ( last time lumber) i took out a small amount from the chest to use and when i came back to get more they were gone completely from the chest as if ive moved it all but they where nowhere to be seen, happened also when i took a few things from my recruited fellow, all things in his backpack were gone while i had only moved half

If your followers have permission to build, fuel structures, and remove items from storage, then they could be using your materials to do those things. Do you have these permissions turn on for your follower? And, if not, are you still encountering this issue?
