Since the winter update, the X key does not bring up the build options (move, desconstruct, ...), these are now in the B key, which is fine. However the companion chest cannot be moved, nor destroyed.
Press B to enter the Build mode. Press T to leave the Toggle mode. Now you should see the icons for move, copy and remove highlightened. Had that problem myself, but maybe more time for try and error.....
