game won't start

Had played for several hours before with no problem but now starting game in steam leads to it closing without any visible window / error.

attempted fixes:

• restarting

• verifying integrity

• reinstalling

• recreating %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\NWX

• updating drivers
