After crafting a new hunting knife and throwing knife, Follower stopped fighting altogether and just stood around. Neither attacking nor being attacked by enemies.
I was going to record a video of this but NPC started attacking again, apparently normally. However, different bugs appeared, including NPC and Wolf disengaging for no apparent reason.
