i used the climbing pic to scale the wall over the field gate to bypass and complete the poi ahead of time. thus resulting in the kill azazel quest to hang up when i finally got around to it since he has already been killed.

If you make your character rest in Sylvan's Cradle (not your Respite) once you wake up it should hopefully revive Azazel.
