I’m not sure if this is intentional or not, but me and my friend were playing and found a way to skip sylvans cradle main quest and go into the heart of the building and beat the boss without making the potions. You’re able to slip through the top of the door by climbing above it. We progressed to the next area wondering why the quest never updated until I went back and did some research.
I did the same thing, saw the gate and made scaffolding up to the open window. Not I'm at the point where I can't advance because it wants me to kill the boss again.
