Issue: Lanterns' bonus crit (and damage) currently applies only to the off-hand, which results in underwhelming attacks, such as dealing only 21 damage. Considering that lanterns are categorized as weapons, their current functionality renders them almost useless. For comparison, items like the umbrella offer more stats value and traversal benefits.
Impact: Players are crafting lanterns only to discover that they contribute nothing meaningful to any build, leading to wasted resources and frustration.
Previously: before 0.5 lantern been a viable option for 1-hand gameplay, at cost of traverse limitations, players were able to score a bit more stats.
Suggestion: The passive stats on off-hand non-combat items should apply to main-hand attacks and magic spells, or the offensive stats and overall gameplay performance of lanterns should be improved to make them a viable option.

Overall it's really not clear why we are bothering to upgrade our Lanterns to better versions.
Their only use is short-range lighting because the light source causes things further off to be harder to see (which I guess mimics real life).
