When I open my inventory or crafting window while using my controller the mouse cursor keeps popping up and resetting what I have highlighted.
It's similar to what occurs if I move my mouse while using the controller.
I have disconnected my keyboard & touchpad and isolated the mouse. I have closed the game - issue still occurs.
If I wait for a second or 3 after opening a menu the issue stops.
