Got stuck in a Vault; couldn't advance due to broken puzzle, couldn't return to the watch directly.

I just got to the Watch, wandered around a bit and stumbled around a corner into a portal downstairs somewhere. I came out in some sort of Vault. The first puzzle was an insight trial (find the sigils hidden on walls everywhere) so I located all of the sigils, however I was unable to activate the final sigil to solve the puzzle and advance. Despite being clearly in view, the sigil couldn't be targeted despite lots of attempts and finagling some weird angles as advised in discord. At this point, I could not advance and continue on in the vault, so I tried to figure out how to return to the Watch, but was unable to do so easily. One player suggested that I should've received some sort of button on my map that would let me return to the Watch directly, but I don't think I got far enough in the story to unlock that because I had gone exploring. Ultimately, I had to go back to the crossways, activate the portal to gloriana's tears again and then run back to the portal to the Watch and then suffer through another load screen, which I felt was very disheartening, and I felt like it was a huge letdown after working so hard to get to the Watch.
