Low tier essence use is subpar. It would be great if we could other use for lower tier essence than just repair for t1 and unlocking progress. Many recipe could benefit from needing essence. Especially refined mats (think gilded&etched for example) and their should be an incentive to farm and use all tier of essence as they could give different bonus or effect, not just an increment.
Some example of possible essence use :
Fuel for light and lantern. Different essence, different colors but also different effect(s).
Spells could have different elemental effect depending of essence use. Make immolation the t1 essence recipe while t2 is frost, t3 poison t4 lightning. Same for shockwave and hermetic flame, it could be different flavor of a same basic recipe.
Different grenades and throwing knife effects .
Existing different ammos could each need their particular essence OR benefit from an increment.
The perceived different "costs" from such a system (why X need low tier essence yet is seemingly as powerful as Y that requires a better essence) could be alleviate by both having X a bit less efficient than Y either by slight total base damage difference or a broader or narrower use (t4 fueled effects would hurt all mobs the same while t1s has some mobs resistant to) AND a different cost in recipe (either need more t1 or t4 recipe give a lot more per unit).
Has we have enchant that uses satiety level or health to fueled their effects, maybe some enchant would have some essence drain while active.

Maybe a wand or different wands each requiring their specific tier of essence (again with different qty for the same number of charges)
