The Cut Ruby reward from Desert Vault is largely useless except as a building material for Obsidian tiles. By the time that gems can be used in gear most gems do not get used simply because they lack primary (crit/damage) attributes; Amber is more useful than Ruby and is found much earlier. The Cut Ruby also only has the attributes of Ruby and no stone powder, or any other material attribute that would make it worth putting in a reward chest alongside T5 materials.
The Cut Ruby should either be replaced with something more appropriate, or it should be a special version of a Cut Ruby that uses a higher tier material for its powder that gives it a primary attribute (magick or melee, keeping with the theme of the other rewards for that vault). Perhaps use the logic of "powdered" resources like metals and gems in place of stone powder.
On that last note, making it possible for players to create "powdered" resources like metals and gems to be used in place of stone powders would be a fantastic crafting unlock for future updates (some time after defeating the Automaton Queen. Maybe by talking to one of the two famous chemists in the game to learn how to do it).
