I would like to see the Minor Realm card system get reworked to and add/modify how realms and biomes appear.
I would like players to have more control over the appearance/features of realms.
I imagine a system where the colors/season/weather/skybox are controlled seperately from other features of realms.
Two ways you could handle this are :
Allow variations in the crafting recipe of the cards to modify how the end result makes the world appear.
The downside here is that you would be overflowing with duplicates of the same card with minor variations due to slight crafting differences.
Allow 2 (or more) minor realm cards to be played in conjunction.
This could be controlled for by restricting the use of a 2nd minor realm card until an upgraded Realmic Transmuter is created.
You could leave the original appearance effects of existing cards, and add "override" cards that are harder to craft that overwrite specific aspects of biomes. Like a "Spring override" or "Red Skies override", etc.
What if I wanted to play the "Outlaw" card, but I wanted my Forest biome to be at springtime so the trees are purple? I currently cannot do this.
This seems like a huge opportunity to add variety and player experimentation to the game to increase longevity.
As it stands, minor realm cards have bonuses and detriments that are already balanced. The appearance of the realm is unfortunately linked to these benefits.
Thank you!

I was thinking about this recently. Perhaps for aesthetics, you can have an "Atmosphere" card that details skyboxes, color, stronger effects. Then have a "Season" card that indicates plant growth levels and foilage lushness, presence of rain/storms/hail/snow. You could separate out the resource bonus and tilesets into their own cards too so you'd mix and match POI tilesets with resource bonuses. Then yes, add different minor cards that change stats and bonuses. If they would stack they're worse than normal (+, ++, or +++), If they're (+ and -, they cancel out.) If they're unique, they just add together.
What I've said is a bad idea, because it's really burdensome and complex, even if there are ways to do it. I think the real issue is that there isn't enough biome variation with just 3 biomes, a couple tilesets, and then whatever the random minor effects cards do, some of which are dramatically more pronounced than other. I also found a purple forest and wanted to make it more peaceful, so I used a settler card to make it more Lush and it turned all the foilage green, which is NOT what I wanted. What do I do if I want thinned veil low gravity in a place that's constantly storming or has Forsaken Skies.
