I played this with several friends before the big update and the game ran just fine, just a tab bit of lag first, main issue was the crashing constantly when going into realms. But now after a year and coming back, the game runs so poorly on my system. Constantly lagging despite putting the spec at the lowest despite not needing to do that before. It causes basically me to be unable to actually handle any combat. My PC isn't the best but I do think the game is poorly optimized. I am updated on all drivers related and my friends have complained of the same issue of lag with different/better set-ups.
