Many of us are spending all of our time just trying to get this one item. Something seems very wrong with this drop. Obviously it's very strong and should be a very low chance, but I've killed nearly 500 harpies and haven't seen a single meat. The current methods of farming them are extremely out of line with melee and magic builds and basically everything else in the game. Apparently offline it's easier to farm from what people are saying on discord.
Agree, I have tried 3 techniques and killed a large number of T4 Harpies. I got Fabled 2 meat out of the process and probably 10 threads. I also don't think the meat is all that much better than Widower, but everyone, is like yeah, gotta have fabled Harpy meat. Maybe give Widower the same stats and color LOL.
sorry for this... the whole game concept is not really got at this point. People want "the best weapon", okay I understand this (even though I think this is not required, maybe in nightmare?). But the only answer is this resource hunting? No better ideas?
They just need to make a fabled harpy that we could hunt
2 days of grueling farming later and ive aquired 21 of the roughly 80 needed to make an endgame armor set.
You don't need Harpy for ranged builds, you can do the exact same damage with T4 Fabled Widower Spider.
Exactly the same ranged damage value, and far far easier to acquire.
And I'm fine with something -so strong- on attributes as Fabled Harpy is to be extremely rare, and if it -does- become more common, it needs to be nerfed to account for that. It's far too strong to be easy to acquire.
My two cents, I agree with this one sentence. (I tried to build a range dress at the moment).
The best, and more or less easy to get range value is 8% (normal harpie). That should be enough for the game. You want 10%? You want special things, do special things, that would be okay for me. BUT:
Melee, 10% how many tons humbaba fabled meet you want? I use it for cooking now. ...
Magick 10%... a fibre... the 12% Grendel Druid, seems to me is easy to get too.
On the other side, many people run around with much magick. I see some people with a red dress (Melee) but only a few with a maul. Many people use firearms or bows too (or a range "tool-weapon").
Rarity of items, most used and best weapons, maximum of this 3 values and overall fight value, something is wrong with the comparison and the "balance".
40+ hours, i've lost count of how many realms - ascended hunt swamps at first, ascended provisioners after advice from NecW. I've not tracked how many T4 Harpies i have killed.
What I have tracked is how much T4 Harpy Meat I have gotten. 2542 Harpy Meat. 47 Fabled Harpy Meat. The percent of total meat dropped is 1.82%.
It isn't the drop rate, per se, that I find annoying. It is the incredible amount of time required to pursue this resource. I have approximately 250 hours playing 0.5 and I have spent nearly 20% of it chasing T4 Fabled Harpy Meat.
