Hey everyone!
Our development team has recently implemented a potential fix for the chat and inventory log disappearing.
To confirm that this fix is in action, please check that you are running the latest version of the game, 0.3.1b.278384 -- visible in the top center when you log in to character creation/selection . If you are still seeing the chat and inventory log disappear, please make a new post stating the date and start upvoting it. Upvoting is the best way to ensure visibility on issues and support us in creating a more polished game experience for you and the Nightingale community.

Still happening in online mode, every time I go through a portal the chat window disappears, have to completely close and restart the game to get it back again. Getting to the point that I'm just going to stop playing until this is fixed as it's just too much downtime every time since you first have to travel through the portal then shut down and restart game to be able to continue playing (if you'd like to see what you're collecting while you play without having to look in your inventory every time you pick up an item).
Seems like the sane issue, the log just disappears. I can't track what items I'm picking up. In my case, there's no cause, just regular online mode play. This only started in the last few weeks. I never saw it happen in previous months of play.
This is still happening to me as well. No chat box with no item pickup notifications.
Seems to happen to me frequently upon "return to respite".
I have been running back to the portal instead now for a while, and haven't seen the bug happen in that time, so maybe related.
Still happening. Sometimes it's when I return to respite within 10 minutes of playing. Sometimes it takes a realm or two to disappear.
Definitely still happening. Seems to be no way to bring it back.
It randomly disappears when I return to respite too in online mode.
Teleporting via the realm portal back to my respite realm did not get rid of the chat window - first time it hasn't disappeared. Typically use the map to return to respite.
Additionally when this happens, it causes the VOIP notifications to also disappear.

I have a 100% way to make the window disappear that may be helpful for you!
-From a fresh boot, load a character and allow it to enter gameplay. (You will see that you have a Log Window.)
-Once loaded, Log out to the Mode Select Screen via System > Quit Game > Log Out
-Once at the mode Select, load the same character and allow it to enter gameplay. (You will see that the Log Window is now missing.)

Teleporting to my respite from hunt swamp realm caused the text box to vanish
this is so annoying please fix happens most time I log in on offline
this is still happening to me alot it just disapears and i have to relog to get it back is quite annoying
Happened to me again: Had been in my abeyance, went to a different realm, went back to abeyance, went to a private vault with a friend and both of us lost our chat boxes at the same time at that point. Relogging fixed it.
Turn ON tracking of a quest and the chat is back. Turn tracking OFF, and it's gone again.
This is occuring to me anytime i switch from one mode to the other, or when i log out and back in without restarting steam. Verifying files did nothing to resolve it. Restarting steam will cause the text box to reappear but only until i log out and come back in either mode.
This happened to me after the update on offline mode. I have not tried online mode.
I had this issue as well in Online Mode. Restarting the game fixed it. Here's an F2 screenshot.
