Under Special Event, I see that the attire is under category Tier 2 but when I craft the clothing, it's only tier 1. Also, I have unlocked the Magickian Tophat but I'm not able to craft at the sewing station. Am I needing the next tier station to be able to craft? Minor effect to the gameplay but I do enjoy the new content!
The stuff is listed under Tier 2 because all the event stuff is listed there - likely because that's the tier of essence required to unlock the recipe once the event is over if you didn't do it for free.
If you look in your crafting recipe list (press V) at the magickian tophat, it requires an Excellent Sewing bench to craft. You'll also note that the winter child's garb is a higher tier than the jolly dress.
