Excellent Smelter continues infinitely crafting without producing anything

I started crafting several types of ingots, so there were about 4 or 5 in queue. There was fuel, but not enough to complete all. I slept in realm, then went to collect the ingots. There was one item left to finish so I added fuel (regular wood). The expected number of ingots was produced but the queued item continued to show x-1 x-2 etc. and the smelter continued to burn and make crafting sounds. Forge card was active on abeyance realm.
