Light sources other than fires from cooking stations, fireplaces or alchemy stations don't provide the "Well Lit" bonus to crafting benches, beds or other placed items.

Hey there,
Thought we'd give a more thorough explanation to removing Well-Lit from light sources based on Player comments and posts.
We have removed Well-Lit from all building parts in the game. This is due to Augments making building more "expensive" to place, negatively effecting build limits and performance.
You can see this difference when placing lights vs placing augmented decorations using "Show Advanced Building Information". Instead of lights costing 90 each due to being a light source + Augment it is now a flat 40.
Only way now to get the buff is from minor cards which is much less labor intensive on a wider verity of machines.
We have also removed all mentions of Well-Lit from the game to avoid future confusion and any minor cards now just state the bonus given to benches.
Thank you
I like the idea that a well lit station is more efficient than one that is not. I hope it is not intended to get rid of it completely and instead just let lights provide that status. If it goes away, so be it. Its a nice little touch tho.
Does that dev response mean the intention is to ultimately eliminate the the "well lit" bonus entirely from the mechanics?
It seems very counter-intuitive that an active smelter or portable grill would provide a "well lit" bonus when they're mainly made of very opaque metal and is designed to generate primarily heat, while the dozens of actual things meant to produce light instead of heat don't provide a "well lit" bonus.
