Creatures teleporting around map and Lag

I dont know if this is a me problem or something in the game though the way it keeps occurring is very strange. Ill aim my rifle at an animal like a deer grazing on a hill and fire, nothing will happen. Than it will disappear and be running up from behind me or be very far away, sometimes with half health as if i had hit it.

This has happened a couple of times in combat as well where ill fire on an enemy and then me and the enemy will stand there then suddenly im dead and the creature is behind me.

This has occurred while im experiencing other sorts of lag as well, im not sure if it's server side or on my end but its incredibly frustrating and its very difficult to play like this.

I have things optimized for performance, as best as i can tell, so if it is on my end, im not sure why yet but it doesn't seem to happen in other games on my system.
