Currently, saves of (offline, dunno about online) both characters and realms, including respites can be corrupted and lost if your pc, or the game crashes.
I'm not sure of the technical details of your implementation, but another solution is required that can avoid this, or at least roll back to a previous, uncorrupted state. Maybe using two sets of saves, and only overwriting the main save after confirming the most recent save is uncorrupted?
