Realms and Level Ideas

While the game, as far as Early Access games go, is fairly large as it is, there are some things that I feel like are missing in terms of world instances that we travel to.

  • no tropical maps- yes, we already have to worry about being overly wet in rain and diseased in swamps, but imagine an overgrown Faewild jungle with weird fruits, meat eating fish, etc. You could have river rapids, a boat navigation system, ways to make springs back at the respite, etc. Bound could take the form of cannibals with longbows, slings and swords. Think the tropical maps as an escalation of the swamps, where we have to content with multiple outside sources.

    • Resources here could be types of plants you can gather different types of poisons from, and even large frogs that do poison damage as well. The mortar station could also be used to craft antitoxins that cure poison damage and give a resistance to it.

    • New enemies: piranha swarms, which would drop Fish (Pirahnna) as a resource

    • Underwater ruins- imagine stumbling onto Atlantis while in the Faewilds in a tropical story realm! This could possibly the boss zone, where we are bequeethed the ability to breathe underwater. The boss itself doesnt have to be underwater, but perhaps its a sea dragon or a crew of pirates who went missing.

    • Armor set: Sailor's equipment- has a nautical pirate theme to it.

  • no tundra maps- Realmwalkers had gotten a taste of this with the Minor Realm Cards introduced in the winter update, but a full arctic map would play more with being cold and needing cold resistance. Bound could primarily do fire damage in these areas

    • Resorces- ice, which can be used in tile sets and food. Another thing that could be found is Cold Iron, which would have an innate melee damage buff and cold damage

    • New enemies- polar bears, which would be cave bears that can have a deadly cold ranged breath weapon. Hide would grant cold resistance.

    • Mini game: snowball fight- an NPC challenges you to a snowball fight as "target practice". Beating them rewards you with Essence, Ice and resources. After beating the NPC, you can buy resources from them

    • Standard tundra Realm cards could be called Frigid Swamp and Frigid Forest. Obviously no Desert Card would exist for this

    • Armor set pieces: horns- all manner of horns like bighorn sheep, dragon horns, stag antlers, etc.

These realm cards may need to be specifically story realms but technically, tundras are considered a type of desert. So maybe these cards are called Frostbitten Forest, Swamp and Desert.

  • More story instances- currently there exists Sylvans Cradle, Glorianas Tears, Welkins Reach, Magwytch Marshes, The Watch, and Nightingale City. While this seems like a lot initially, I think more could be added, especially if more biomes were added. The realm that the Watch sits in could also be its own realm, though the Watch itself is sequestered in a particular part of it.

With story instances in mind, I definetly think more of the lore of the Faewilds could be delved into, especially on where all of the Fae themselves went. Sure we have the Wisps, Grendals and the Giants, but we dont ever see anything such as dragons, satyrs, fauns, pixies, sprites, redcaps, dryads, etc. It leaves the Realms feeling a tad empty. Getting to speak to more of the Fae inhabitants who hadn't been corrupted could introduce opportunities for new Recruitable NPC's and quests.
