Hello,
I mean the NPCs for this "Build helping". They run around, fell trees, mining stones ... but they never finish their own buildings. That make not really sense.

It's because you're supposed to do it for them. It's one of the tasks. Once you complete their structures, a nearby locked chest opens with a reward.
