Halloween Event that isn't just boring predictable monster mash

Instead of a boring kill 1000 units of whatever which players will still find tedious to do by opening an easy realm and playing Maleficiate or Blood Moon for eternal night, how about a version that is more civilized and closer to what humans do during Halloween?

  • Help prepare a feast and decorations at one of the communities, probably the first one in the corrupted forest. Tie it to a Thanksgiving feast as that is also around the sasme time.

  • Help villagers make costumes and in the process also learn outfits you can use in transmog. Not everything needs to have stats. Many items can just be good for transmog.

  • Have mysterious NPCs in disguise that are actually fey. They interfere with cooking and crafts and cause jinxes to happen when players are trying to craft or build. Or animate carved pumpkins to scare villagers and those have to be smashed and replaced. Find the fey and appease them with gifts to get them to stop and give some treat in return that is probably funny in effect but might be good or bad.

  • Craft food for the feast and treats for children. Hand them out or receive them from villagers and mischevous fey in disguise.

Great ideas! And well written. More civilized options to unlock the rewards would be appriciated.

I love these ideas. The game is still in early access, so I'm hoping they're just throwing these simple ones out there to spare time for working on more long term stuff and hopefully they'll do more intricate and thought out events once the game sees full release.

So I tried to spawn Bound at a POI by for example deliberately failing an Intellect challenge causing Bound to spawn, but they will not spawn Halloween Bound.

Which forces players to roam around at night looking for Bound. I guess this is intended but even playing an always-night card, it's pretty tedious to find 25 let alone 1000. I suppose it could be done over several iteratoins of the event?

Something I found that makes this even more of a drag is that if you're doing it with friends. . . well, don't. You each have to kill your own 1000. It doesn't matter if you're both within 30m of each other and both actively killing things, it only counts the ones you personally kill towards the goal. It turns it into a competition of who can kill things faster.
I don't think that's a great way to have things work out when trying to play coop.
