i was using the umbrella and the climbing gear interchangeably and at a certain point my movement keys stopped working and I could only ctrl to move launching me further into the air. Now i am stuck in the sky

So I was climbing up on a rock using the climbing gear then got stuck in the air after reaching the top. Stamina is recharging but the ground is no longer accepts my company. So uh ill post a screen shots and a small video. I also teleported back to the base and it did not fix the problem. This issue happened in multiplayer. Hope this helps fixes the bug issues. As the previous commenter said, a screenshot of your situation would be helpful. You can also provide us with additional debug information by hitting F2 while in game and sharing the screenshot that is generated here as an attachment.
However, if you're still stuck, you can open the options menu with ESC and should see a button labeled "Help, I'm Stuck" which will provide you with some options to get unstuck.
Not one of the game devs but my guess would be that you might be bugged on/against an invisible wall. There are quite many of those in the worlds if you actively look for them i.e. check out how far/high up you can go. Maybe provide a screenshot of the situation.
