hi, I play handheld on Steam Deck but assume this affects all players that use a controller.
If I press Y to bring up the Consumables radio dial, and then use the joystick to select a consumable, my character moves in the direction of the joystick. e.g. if I pick a consumable at 3 o’clock on the radio dial, I move right.

Similarly, for players on PC, when opening the radial menu while walking, it stops me from walking, even though I select with mouse and not my directional buttons...
Similarly, you can't reassign the consumable wheel to another key so in AZERTY keyboard, you're stuck with left straffing opening the radial wheel
