When crafting an item, there are several issues with the augment stations and their associated infusions.
When constructing augments, it is not clear which ones will stack.
When crafting a Simple Slingbow, a "Simple Hunting Augment" from a Hunter's Trophy (T1) adds "Ranged Damage +". A "Refined Hunting Augment" from an Unsprung Trap (T2) adds "Ranged Damage ++". A "Simple Military Augment" from a Crude Ammo Box (T1) also adds "Ranged Damage +". All of these bonuses stack and appear on the Slingbow under "Infusions" as "2x Ranged Damage +, Ranged Damage ++"
When cooking Roasted Berries at a Refined Cooking Station (T2), crafting 10 Roasted Berries yields 10 Roasted Berries. Adding a Strange Jug (T1) grants a 1.2x multiplier so crafting 10 Roasted Berries yields 12 Roasted Berries. Removing the Strange Jug and adding a Cooking Knife (T2) grants a 1.4x multiplier so crafting 10 Roasted Berries yields 14 Roasted Berries. If we leave the Cooking Knife and add the Strange Jug, we should either see (at least) a 1.4x multiplier, a 1.6x multiplier (if they stack additively), or a 1.68x multiplier if they stack multiplicatively. However, we instead receive only a 1.2x multiplier, possibly because the system defaults to the most recent augment that was added, rather than stacking or using the highest tier.
When examining crafted items, there is overlap in nomenclature used for the bonuses. While less significant than the first point, this issue causes confusion in communication.
Bonuses given by the Hunter's Trophy and Crude Ammo Box are shown on the Slingbow under "Infusions" as "2x Damage +".
An item that can be crafted on the Enchanter's Focus, also called an "Infusion".
Despite the extensive work done to maximize the above bonuses, augments add meager bonuses to the crafted items. For example, a Simple Slingbow crafted with no augments deals 100 damage. If all three augments listed in 1a are added, the Slingbow deals 106 damage. At the scale of damage done at T1 and T2, the planning, resource collection, and Feng Shui required for a 6% damage bonus make it difficult to justify the effort, especially in a game with multiple players who have to stop and plan out how best to get what they want out of a given crafting station when others may not want the same bonuses.

Hard no on the infusions. They allow me to customize my gear a little more. I really do like that my gear isn't just cookie cutter.
Apparently what is not clear is that you can only have one active augment from each Category of augmentation.
Strange Jug and Cooking Knife are both under the Cooking Augmentation category and share the same icon. Therefore they do not stack. There are seven (7) Cooking Augmentations so if they all stacked it would be a crazy amount of food multiplication.
The whole system of putting furnishings close by to activate also complicates conveying this information. If you put a Strange Jug and a Cooking Knife nearby, you need to first recognize that the Strange Jug (Simple Cooking) should be overwritten by the Cooking Knife (Refined Cooking) as long as both are invalid range. And then let the player know this.
Really it would be easier to rework the system entirely.
I recommend something similar to New World's settlement cooking stations. When you upgrade the tier, the station visibly gets bigger and more stocked with furnishings and utilities.
So a Crafting Station could take up an entire tile and as you upgrade it through the tiers, more and more features appear.
Weird augmentations should be outright deleted and the bonuses integrated in some other way, e.g., a Saddle Rack to give one-handed ranged weapons a damage bonus. Instead, make a separate, more specialized Crafting Station for making guns and put the bonuses there.
Hard agree here. One of the biggest pieces of repeated feedback I get from friends is that the granular nature of crafting is too intimidating and the messy augments system just adds to that. I hate having to go to the Progression Pane and find the workbench to figure out what augments it can accept and then having to stare at 3x3 pixel icons to figure out which is a "Magick" augment and mouse over it to determine if it's Simple, Refined, etc. all just for some relatively minor bonuses once I figure out which augments can and can't stack.
