I have been battling this issue all night as to why my recruit goes up about 3 stairs to follow me, then just turns around and goes back down and just stops at gound level. It turns out there must be a new bug with the way recruits handle the "no support" feature in foundations and flooring.
I made a Pagoda foundation, just basic on the ground level. I placed Bhutan Support Frames around for structure and build the Bhutan Upper floor with stairs. The Recruit fails to follow me upstairs at all.
As soon as I place an actual full foundation under the Bhutan Upper Floor (which now is defeating the ground level), the Recruit now is following me back upstairs as normal again.
I have tried placing many Tudor Support Pillars around to see if the flooring will allow Recruits, but it does not.
Edit as of 10/28/24: The Bhutan Upper Floor is what is causing the Recruits to not path. Edited Title.

I have the same problem. My recruit can't stand on the Bhutanese upper floor and falls through to the ground.
Adding that this affects pets too. ;-;
They'll just sit in place and not wander~
Just updated the title to the actual issue of the Bhutan Upper Floor
I found out the issue: It is the Bhutan Upper Floor that is bugged. If I use that, the Recruit will not walk on it if it is elevated. As soon as I removed it and placed down something else, like the Pagoda Upper Floor, the Recruit came right up the stairs and started following me again.
I waited until the following day to relog back in, the recruit just hangs out at the beach-line. You can see me looking above in the window how far away the recruit is, and a zoomed in version. He won't even re-appear at me like he does when you are not in the immediate area. Bizarre!
