Fauna in forests vs swamp and deserts

I really like the critter variety in forests now. The small deers are a great touch that I haven't noticed before and having a good number of non-hostile critters makes the place feel much more alive and believable.

This isn't quite the case with swamps and deserts. They honestly feel much less visually interesting and atmospheric. I'd love to see more small and harmless critters in those biomes. Down-scaled versions of the scorpions and juvenile elephants/hippos/bisons would be great for that kind of thing. I bet people would also go nuts over a small, cute desert fox (aka fennek). That one would also make for a great pet and could make sense with a reskin for forest or snow realms, as well.

Cheers o/
