In this particular case encountering and then "escaping" the Holt Eoten left the massive health bar remaining on the top of the screen. Returning to the area the creature was gone and did not respawn.
I have gone through the middle realm in the watch, each time i have made it to the boss and area at the end of the cave and theirs no boss and i cant complete it both times.
