So I crafted the Confluence potion and stocked up for the trek and dungeon to cleanse the Corrupted Roots in Sylvan's Cradle. I ended up dying on the bottom floor (due to my own stupidity) but now I cannot find my body anywhere even though it shows up on my compass/map. It's as if it just isn't there

After dying:
your character's body is not something you need to claim, it simply disappears as you respawn
you should retain all of your items on death and lose a small amount of durability from your equipped items
you will see a skull marker on the map showing the location of your death to help you retrace your steps
Technically, this is all working as intended and you shouldn't be missing anything. Hopefully this helps!
it isn't there. your body isn't a thing that spawns that you need to go claim. When you died, you lost your food buffs and some durability on your equipped items - but you shouldn't have dropped anything from your inventory at all.
