Nightingale Community Portal
I am currently stuck on this quest. I found and cleared the corrupted ruin holding the corrupted mushroom/corrupted roots prior to speaking to Desma. When I returned with the purity potion, it still says, "You can't fathom a way to dispel it."
I didn't have this problem with the Carnute/was able to clear that part of the quest. I tried rebooting the game, which did not resolve.

The first mushroom is in cave on the coast the one in the ruin is a later part of the story you're both in the wrong place check your map, guys. You need to kill a single mushroom in the cave return to Desma and craft the confluence potion to proceed to the ruin with that.
Stuck here as well. Love to hear if anyone else has found a work around I the mean time.
I am also stuck here, I am going to exit and log back into the game, and or try making more of that poting :(
