[Online, single player] In an Angler Basket a Mystic Fishing Pole and a Mystic Hammer disappeared and became 1 Harpy Ink. Then Tier 5 Humbaba Bones (about 40, in a Footed Chest) became Harpy Ink. Then my potions starting becoming Harpy Ink (in a Voyager's Steamer Trunk chest). Almost each time i come back to my Respite realm (my respite is Antiquarian swamp, just south of F3 grid point-also As of todays update, Harpies wont stop spawning in respite, 3 cairns up). Just now EVERY TIER 5 ITEM I HAD (Humbaba Hides Tier 5 Mushrooms, Tier 5 ores, all of them placed in a Voyager's Steam Trunk as a test and they still turned to ink) became only 10 Harpy Ink. This has only really happened to my Mystic Fishing Pole, my Mystic repair hammer (twice) and a Mystic Pistol, and all of tier 5 items. Does not affect tire 4 or below ores or fibers or hides or wood it seems. I know it is early access but after February 3rd update I am losing tools at mystic level or tier 5 items...all of it, with each reload More goes into Harpy Ink.

Items in footed chest, voyager's steam chest, or anglers basket change to Harpy ink. May take two returns to respite to happen. Happens when returning to respite from Hollowed Moor and Ascended realms. |
Hello!
In Nightingale, Harpies -- commonly found in Swamp realms -- will actual steal from players' chests and storage, leaving behind Harpy Ink in exchange. It's possible that this wasn't an issue before, because no Harpies were spawning close enough to target your respite base. However, this is technically working as designed. You should be able to prevent Harpies from stealing from your storage by building secure bases with doors, or placing chests somewhere that it is difficult for the harpies to reach.
After they steal from you, Harpies should run back to their spawn point to drop the items on the ground. You should be able to pick them up again. Or, if you catch them in the act, you can attack them and they should drop your items.
Hopefully this helps!
