Mauls don't count as hammers for augments, even though appearance/description/gameplay suggests they are

I have two construction augments active, which should boost "hammers" with more damage and stamina, and the screenshot of the crafting preview shows that mauls don't get boosted. But the rest of the game strongly suggests mauls are hammers: First, the descriptions mention stake-pounding and construction work, and one even calls the tool a sledge, which is a hammer. Second, the maul and hammer share the same damage type, and are the only two melee tools that are effective against the stone wall obstacles. Third, I've not yet seen or heard of any augment that specifically mentions mauls, which seems very odd unless they were intended to be grouped with hammers. Finally, there's the appearance... so I think either they should fully count as hammers for augments or something about the appearance, description, and gameplay needs to change to differentiate them, since the current situation is extremely counterintuitive.
