Armour disappeared due to felled tree (NPC felled)

I'm currently on a map and wanted to help an NPC. I want to replenish the items and he falls a tree, which falls on me. At the same time as the NPC's tent breaks, the dress I'm wearing disappears. Since when do clothes that break disappear? My character didn't take any damage at that moment. Only my heavily crafted dress simply disappeared.
